Overland Park, Kansas, December 9, 2011— The Prairie Village TITLE Boxing Club will host an anti-bullying group called Fight Club beginning in January 2012. The organization is spearheaded by TITLE Boxing Club member, Holly Reynolds, and according to the organization’s Facebook page, you can’t let the name fool you.
Their community Facebook page titled Fight Club: advocacy program for bullied youth (https://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/TITLEBoxingClub4?ref=ts#!/pages/Fight-Club-advocacy-program-for-bullied-youth/206853819379992) says, “The program is designed to give young adults a space to call their own, a safe haven, a vehicle to release aggression and internalized emotions. We embrace diversity, and insist that candidates are respectful of the beauty of that diversity as well. The volunteers at FIGHT CLUB are driven by the belief that ALL children deserve to feel safe, loved and encouraged to succeed; we do not judge based on race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.”
“I wished I had something like TITLE Boxing Club when I was a teen,” says Reynolds. “With this group, Bigg Ron and I hope to empower teens and end bullying.”
TITLE Boxing Club of Prairie Village will donate space every Sunday for three months beginning in January. The students of FIGHT CLUB will learn the basic principles of boxing and kickboxing to build their self-esteem. Bigg Ronn, a boxing trainer, is donating his time and talents to lead the fitness classes, the remaining 30 minutes will feature a relevant guest speaker to help build and support a stable mind/body connection.
An Open House is scheduled for teens and parents at 3:30 p.m., December 18, 2011 at the 76th & State Line TITLE Boxing Club. If you’d like to support Fight Club, you can make monetary donations or give new hand wraps so each child participating will have a pair at the Prairie Village TITLE Boxing Club.
