Up for the challenge: Andy loses 33 lbs - April 2008
It's all about the challenge for Andy—the challenge to get to the gym and get in shape. Boxing workouts at TITLE Boxing Club with other dedicated people was all he needed. Now, Andy has burned fat and lost inches hitting it hard.
It had been four years since Andy worked out when he heard about TITLE Boxing Club. A boxing fan most of his life that was all Andy needed to get fired up. He joined in January 2008.
"I've always had a deep respect for fighters because they are the best conditioned athletes in any sport," he said. "When I watch a fight, I think 'do I have what it takes to train like they do?'"
Obviously he does. He is an avid member working out three, sometimes four, times a week. His hard work is paying off. He has lost 33 pounds, and has gone down one shirt size and one pant size. He still wants to lose more weight—about 20 pounds—and says he is happy to be able to do that at TITLE Boxing Club.
Andy likes how energetic the trainers are and how they treat everyone equally no matter what their experience. He also enjoys seeing the other members working out and giving it their all.
"I'm amazed by the hard work put in by everyone in class," he said. "Sometimes my arms feel so dead, I feel like I can't lift them anymore. Then out of the corner of my eye, I'll see the guy or girl on the next bag giving it all they've got. I find that very inspiring."
He enjoys working out here so much, he has told everyone about TITLE Boxing Club. Many people express concern about getting hit or that the gym is only for men, but he said that the opposite of that is true. He does let people know that it is hard, rewarding work.
"This is not a social club; you don't see people standing around chatting during workouts like you do at so many other gyms. TITLE Boxing Club is for people who truly want a challenging workout, and maybe to surprise themselves at what they're capable of."
