Fitness Pro Jump Starts Workout After Injury. His Endurance is UP and his Weight is DOWN. Dec/2009

When fitness professional and personal trainer, Chris Smith, needed motivation to get back into the gym following an injury, he turned to TITLE Boxing Club. In just a few weeks, Chris has lost seven pounds and increased his endurance while having fun doing it.

"I was sidelined for almost nine weeks so I needed something different to jump start my workouts," Chris explains. "I had heard about TITLE Boxing Club and decided to give it a shot in November. It's totally different for me. The dynamic workouts keep me motivated and going to the club two or three times a week."

Because of his hip injury, Chris sticks with the boxing workouts at TITLE Boxing Club. He says it's an intense full body workout that hits areas of his body he doesn't usually use. And he says the workouts don't feel like traditional exercise. In fact, this fitness pro was shocked at how hard the class was his first time.

"I hadn't worked out in a long time, and I had a hard time keeping up. Each class got a little easier and now my endurance is up and I'm feeling stronger," he says.

Since joining TITLE Boxing Club, Chris has started a well-rounded fitness routine by mixing up his workouts. He incorporates trips to his local gym where he'll isolate muscle groups for strength training with some light cardio on the days he doesn't hit the POWER HOUR. The two different styles of working out complement each other and are making Chris feel healthier, and he's living his philosophy for training.

"I work with all types of people. Whether they're recovering from a spinal cord injury, looking to lose weight or train for a marathon, to be effective a fitness routine has to be as well rounded as possible," he explains. "After my first class at TITLE Boxing Club, I had so much fun, I had to make it a part of my regular workouts. Participating in these classes has also sparked more creativity in the workouts that I make for my clients."

Chris earned a kinesiology degree from Kansas State University and is a NSCA certified personal trainer and strength and conditioning specialist. He is a trainer at Quest to Walk, a spinal cord injury recovery center located in Overland Park, KS. He also offers personal training and strength and conditioning training to athletes and people of all ages and body types.

He believes in TITLE Boxing Club's workouts so much, he tells his clients about his experience, encouraging anyone who will listen to give the POWER HOUR a shot.

"It really doesn't seem like you're working out. You get to class and it's so much fun, it's over before you know it. I'm already getting results and I just joined in November. Imagine what I'll be looking and feeling like in a few months."
