TJ Loses Weight, Gains Confidence - Oct/2009
TJ has wanted to get in shape for years. He'd start an exercise routine or class, only to get bored and quit. So when a friend told him about the POWER HOUR at TITLE Boxing Club, he thought he'd give fitness one more shot. And this time it's paid off.
"I've lost 18 pounds in just four and a half months," says TJ. "I'd probably have lost more, but I lost 12 pounds and got out of the habit, gaining six pounds of that back. For the last two months I've been hitting it really hard, lost the pounds I gained back and then some."
It's the atmosphere that gets TJ to the club every week. He credits the music and being surrounded by other people who are having fun that keeps him going. And the results.
"I feel like I'm improving myself as I'm working out," explains TJ. "The sweat is dripping off of me and I'm still having fun. I can tell it's working while I'm doing it. I'm addicted now, missing the workout when I don't go."
What's more, he's enjoying better health as a result of the POWER HOUR. An asthmatic child, TJ has always battled breathing difficulties which kept him from participating in sports or in any kind of running activities. His workouts are having a positive impact.
"When I started at TITLE Boxing Club, I couldn't finish a class all the way through. But now I can keep going because I have a lot better lung endurance," he says.
Not only does TJ feel better, he's enjoying greater self-esteem and he feels like he looks better since his shirts fit better and his belt is tighter.
"Muscle weighs more than fat, and I know I've put on a lot of muscle," he says. "When I started I could only bench 210 pounds, now I can bench 260, proof I've gotten stronger by adding 50 pounds to my bench press."
Thanks to TITLE Boxing Club's results driven POWER HOUR classes and the members and staff who keep him coming back for more, TJ feels better about himself overall.
"I used to drink energy drinks to get myself going, I don't have to do that anymore. Since joining TITLE Boxing Club, I feel in shape, alive, happy and full of energy," he says.
