Jason Lawson was the "little guy" in high school. So at the age of 17, he discovered Martial Arts. Several years later, Jason gained 40 pounds of lean muscle through kickboxing and full contact Karate. Today you'll find him at TITLE Boxing Club as the kickboxing trainer at the Prairie Village gym.
Jason is a second degree black belt in Taekwondo and is an instructor by the World Taekwondo Federation. He has also studied Krav Maga and Karate. Jason also enjoyed thrilling crowds as a member of the World Martial Arts demonstration team. Having taught for several years, Jason enjoys motivating people to succeed.
"When people get results, they build their self-confidence and self-esteem," says Jason. "You can actually see it in the way they carry themselves."
Jason's POWER HOUR classes offer high impact, full energetic kickboxing. He effectively combines kickboxing technique with cardio bursts that keep members moving the entire hour. For the member who works hard and gives it their all-the outcome can only be results.
"I can keep people going longer with consistent positive reinforcement. I follow a technique I learned called PCP-Praise, Correct, Praise. I praise for good work, correct any wrong technique and praise them again when they correct their form," explains Jason.
With Jason's continual, positive encouragement, the POWER HOUR literally flies by. While he says his class is hard work, it's over before you know it as you keep moving at your pace, growing physically fit with each jab, cross and kick.
"A Power Hour is hard work, there's no mistake about that. But if it's fun and energetic with everyone moving, they leave wanting more even when they're exhausted," he says.
Always ready with a smile, Jason will get you moving with energetic kickboxing POWER HOUR fitness classes at the 76th & State Line TITLE Boxing Club.
