Coach Day

Coach Day

Biography

Coach Day is a Prince George’s County native, boxing coach, youth mentor, and founder of the Built Different Youth Empowerment Program.

But before there was a method, a program, or a mission, there was boxing.

With a 5-0 amateur background, Coach Day was shaped by the rich boxing culture of the DMV and the Round 1 Boxing family, coming up around respected figures including Adrian Davis, Demarcus “Chop Chop” Corley, Keith Holmes, William Joppy, Dominic Wade, Larry Recio, Lamont Roach, and more.

The gym gave him a foundation.

Sugar Ray Leonard inspired the balance of class and ferociousness. The ability to carry yourself with grace, then compete with conviction when the bell rings.

Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather Jr. reinforced another principle: hard work and dedication. The discipline to prepare when nobody is watching. The patience to master the details. The confidence that comes from knowing the work has already been done.

Over time, those lessons became something of his own.

The Coach Day Method.

A coaching philosophy where boxing fundamentals meet memorable language, mental conditioning, and real-life principles.

Because to Coach Day, “Home” isn’t simply a stance. It’s your foundation.

“Protect yourself at all times” isn’t only a rule of boxing. It’s a principle for life.

And learning how to fight doesn’t always mean learning how to fight another person.

Sometimes the fight is stress.

Sometimes it’s fear.

Sometimes it’s self-doubt.

Sometimes it’s simply everything life asked you to carry that day.

That’s why Coach Day is passionate about increasing awareness around mental health and creating spaces where movement can become medicine. His classes are designed to be more than workouts. They are an outlet to decompress and a safe space to reset.

Come in carrying the day.

Leave the stress on the bags.

That same belief became the heartbeat of the Built Different Youth Empowerment Program, where boxing becomes a vehicle for something greater: confidence, character, discipline, resilience, leadership, and purpose.

Young people learn how to throw punches.

But they also learn to embrace their gifts.

To establish their foundation.

To protect themselves.

To keep moving when life applies pressure.

And most importantly, to understand that being Built Different doesn’t mean being better than anyone else.

It means recognizing that there is something uniquely yours to develop, protect, and give to the world.

From Prince George’s County to every gym, classroom, community, and young person the mission reaches, Coach Day’s purpose remains the same:

Build the foundation.
Protect yourself at all times.
Embrace what makes you different.
And train to fight through life, not people.

My Personal Mantra

If you don’t have anything worth living for, then find something worth dying for”.

My Training Style Is

Intentional, energetic, technical, and purpose-driven. Through The Coach Day Method, I combine authentic boxing fundamentals with memorable language and real-life principles. I want you to understand not only what you’re doing, but why. We build from the foundation up, challenge the mind and body, and create an environment where you can work hard, have fun, decompress, and leave feeling better than you came.

My Why

Because I know the fight isn’t always another person. Sometimes it’s stress. Fear. Self-doubt. Pressure. Or simply everything life asked you to carry that day. I believe boxing can be an outlet to decompress, a safe space to reset, and a tool for building confidence and resilience. Whether I’m coaching an adult or mentoring a young person through Built Different, my purpose is to help people discover what’s already inside of them and learn how to fight through life, not people.

What Gives Me My Fighting Spirit

Faith, family, purpose, and the people I’m called to serve. My fighting spirit comes from knowing that what I’ve been given is bigger than me. Every obstacle is another opportunity to strengthen my foundation, protect what matters, and keep moving forward. I fight to become the man I’m called to be, to create something meaningful for the next generation, and to remind others that pressure doesn’t have to break you. Sometimes, it reveals what you’re built from.

Elise

Elise

Biography

I started boxing as a member at TITLE Bocxing Club Owings Mills in 2019 and graduated to coach in 2023. As a certified USA Boxing coach, I bring a high-energy and encouraging style to my classes. With a background in dance and long-distance running, I love the combination of choreography, technique, and cardio that boxing brings together. Most of all, I love helping people discover that they’re capable of. Outside of boxing, I love designing costumes, cooking, and traveling whenever I get the chance.

My Personal Mantra

You don’t become a fighter when you step into the ring. You become one every day you choose to do the work.

My Training Style Is

Encouraging and energetic

My Why

Boxing has taught me that you’re capable of more than you think you are. I coach because I want to give that feeling to other people: the confidence that comes from doing something difficult, putting in the work, and realizing you’re stronger than you thought.

What Gives Me My Fighting Spirit

My fighting spirit comes from refusing to let setbacks have the final say in what I’m capable of.
